Why Sherburn-in-Elmet? 

Sherburn is a fantastic and historic village. It’s one of the very few places with a beautiful and thriving traditional high street. The local area also has everything you could want including; greengrocers, butchers, independent shops and fish and chips! 

As the village continues to grow, so does the amount of young families moving to live there. It’s the perfect little place to own a fish and chip shop. 

From bank to banking on fish and chips 

Fish Bank’s building was a former NatWest bank which, for many years, people trusted with their hard earned money. In 2019, the building was put up for sale and Fish Bank owner Jonathan seized his opportunity. Having always worked in the food industry, he had a growing desire to own a fish and chip shop, which soon became a reality when he purchased the former bank with this dream in mind. 

He didn’t want to get rid of the banking history, so included it in the name as it’s a distinctive and unique feature of the shop. With plenty of space to work, the former bank was converted into a bright and contemporary fish and chip shop that stands out and attracts new and old customers. A lot of the same customers who once used to visit the bank, now put the same trust in Fish Bank, and bank on great fish and chips.
